Assessment week, again?!
It’s hard to believe, but yes, it’s time again for assessments. The months fly by, don’t they?
But before we get to the testing that’s ahead, let’s have a look back at the week gone by. And it was a great one in the workout department! TWO rowing workouts. Three bike rides, the latest of which was spent conquering the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains in Maryland. One pool swim. A great long run. Strava was thrilled at my performance, even if TriDot was its usual lukewarm self. 😉
Now – let’s see how that all pans out for assessment week! Here’s what’s on the docket.
Monday: We start off the week as usual, with an hourlong ladder swim. Later in the day I’ll do a strength workout at Row House.
Tuesday: In full disclosure, I’m supposed to do my FTP test on Tuesday, but I’ve flipped it to Thursday in order to ride with my dad early in the week because of the holiday. So this will be an hourlong easy ride instead.
Wednesday: It’s 5K time trial time again! I really hope I improve upon June’s effort.
Thursday: Here comes the aforementioned FTP test. It’s always a slog, but always a great benchmark!
Friday: I’ll finish out the workweek with a long-awaited swim assessment, which I’ve been putting of since I haven’t been, you know, actually swimming until recently. It’s the usual 400/200 CSS test, and I’m interested to see how I’ll do!
Saturday: My long run is slotted in for Saturday this week – 50 minutes of marathon repeats.
Sunday: I’ve switched my long ride to Sunday in order to do a brunch ride with the club!
Have a great week, friends!
