Friends, I’d like to apologize for my radio silence these last few days. I’ve been traveling to visit family (a long-awaited trip, I might add!), and alongside that to be perfectly honest I’ve been coming to a bit of a crisis of confidence about this little blog. Does anybody actually care about these updates? I’ve found myself wondering. Is this helping anybody but me? I’ve come to the conclusion that, for now, the answer is Yes, but perhaps a quiet Yes, so I shall persist. If you feel otherwise, please speak up! And if you’re reading, please say hi if the mood strikes you. 🙂
Last week’s training was actually really good. I worked in everything but my swims (which is on the docket to come back this week) and had an amazing long run in my parents’ new neighborhood in Florida. I’m excited about the Rock n Roll Half in DC in a few weeks – I can’t wait to see how I do!
With all that said, on to this week.
Monday: This was supposed to be a swim, but it’s been a travel day instead (as I write this I am winging my way back from Florida to Virginia). I’m going to try to make up the swim later in the week but also make no promises in that regard.
Tuesday: Threshold intervals for an hour on the bike! My dad and I have plans to meet up on Zwift, which I’m looking forward to. Then later in the day I’ll go to a class at Row House for some strength training.
Wednesday: An hourlong progression run for my speedwork session. As you know, I really love doing my speedwork on the treadmill, so that’s what I’ll probably do.
Thursday: An hourlong easy ride beckons! I’ll knock that out on Zwift, most likely with my dad, and then later in the day I’ll hit up the Row House again.
Friday: I’ve got a 50-minute workout of Broken 200s at the pool for my first swim workout in 40 forevers. 😉 Will I make it there? Time will tell!
Saturday: The weekend kicks off with a 1:40 Threshold and Hold bike, followed by a 20-minute run. I wish I could ride with the TriDot team in their usual 11 a.m. Zwift ride, but I’ll be attending the St. Patrick’s Parade at noon (we have the earliest one in the nation apparently!), so I’ll find myself riding alone earlier in the day. C’est la vie!
Sunday: A 1:05 long run cometh! It’s sort of weird that I did an hour and 20 minutes this week and am doing 1:05 next, but I’ll trust the process for a change and go with it.
Have a great week, friends!
