Well, despite what it looks like on these pages – that I decided not to do this fall’s 70.3 and then just decided to fall off the face of the Earth – I’ve actually been embracing my offseason training and throwing some fun new and novel workouts into the mix! My consistency has – if I do say so myself – been spot-on lately and I’ve been loving each day’s activity. May it continue into this week, which promises to be a busy one life-wise! Let’s see what we’ve got.

Monday: The week begins in the pool and will I hope be my first Garmin-directed swim workout, now that TriDot’s swim plans can transfer over to my watch with (I hope) ease! We’ll kick things off with an hourlong Broken Ladders workout and see where things go from there.

Tuesday: This one’s a three-a-day trio, which sounds crazier than it will be in practice I think. First, I’ll do an hourlong easy bike ride with my dad on Zwift, and then immediately after head off for a 20-minute easy run. Then later in the day I’ll hit up the Row House for a Signature workout, which merges rowing with strength work. The only variable here is the possibility that I might have to lead a volunteer training after work, but I’ll know one way or the other on Monday night and can pivot accordingly.

Wednesday: Wednesday is Intervals day on the run! The past few weeks, I’ve been doing my speedwork on the treadmill at the YMCA, and I might do that again this week since I have so much fun with it.

Thursday: Now, this is the part of the week where things get tricky, as the company I work for has its annual meeting on Thursday and Friday (which has, quite frankly, been an anxiety producer all on its own for a number of reasons). But if all goes to plan – and I will do my best to ensure it does – I’ll do a bike ride before the meeting begins. I’m finishing up this year’s Zwift Academy (more on that later) this week, and have a race to do Thursday! The “gun” is very early so it feels quite doable.

Friday: Friday is the other variable this week given said annual meeting. I have an hourlong Broken 150s swim workout on the docket, as well as a reservation at our local Row House for a Restore workout (because by that point in the week I will need some restoration!), but I have no idea how the meeting schedule is going to go and thus what-all I can work in. I will do my best to rise to the challenge. 🙂

Saturday: The weekend launches with my second and final Zwift Academy race, followed by a 20-minute brick run. And with that I will have graduated from the Academy – whoopee! 🙂

Sunday: Finally, we’ll close the week out with an hourlong run. I am so glad my long runs are picking back up in time again – I love going out on a Sunday morning and just pondering the world as I pound the pavement!

And that will do it for this week! Let’s meet back here next week and see how well I did. 😉
